Biography
Joshua “Josh” H. Raymond concentrates his practice in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Corporate Restructuring, Bankruptcy, Debtor/Creditor Rights and Governmental Affairs.
Josh has represented numerous Debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings. Josh has represented corporate entities, individuals, trustees, creditors’ committees, municipalities and many other types of parties in interest in commercial disputes and insolvency matters. Additionally, Josh has prosecuted and defended numerous preference actions. He served as an Assignee for the Benefit of Creditors of GameWear, Inc.
Josh also practices in the area of Municipal Law, in which he represents several municipalities, including The Township of West Orange, City of Linden and the City of Atlantic City in all bankruptcy matters.
From 2014 to 2018, Josh organized the “Run on the Reservoir” a 5K race to raise funds for the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation. In 2018, the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation honored Josh as its Volunteer of the Year. In 2015, Josh was asked to serve on the NJBLF Board of Directors.
Josh is currently the Mayor of the Borough of North Caldwell, serving a four year term from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2026. Josh previously served the Borough as a Councilman for two terms from 2014 through 2019.
From 2009 through 2013, Josh was selected by the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Ethics to serve on a District Ethics Committee.
From 2004 to 2007, Josh served as the Public Defender in the Borough of Ringwood, New Jersey.
In 2003, Josh was appointed a Condemnation Commissioner in State of New Jersey v. Advance at One Gateway, LLC, et al.
In 1996, Josh was appointed to The Montclair Kimberley Academy Alumni Association. He served as its President from 2004 to 2006. Josh also served on the Board of Trustees from 2004 through 2006.
