MS&B Names New Partners

MS&B is pleased to announce that Mel Myers and Sari Placona have been named Partners. 

Mel is an experienced attorney focusing on tax, redevelopment, real estate and land use.  We congratulate Mel for the manner in which he continues to distinguish himself as a lawyer.  Mel's tax controversy practice focuses on defending corporations, tax partnerships and individuals during IRS or State of New Jersey audits and litigating tax disputes at both the federal and state levels.  He is currently handling several complex redevelopment and tax matters for our clients including projects such as those looking to take advantage of Federal Opportunity Zones for those looking to maximize the return on their investments.  Mel is a real asset to the Firm and our clients.  For more information on Mel's expertise, please click here.  You can find more information about our Tax Controversy practice here.

Sari concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, debtor/creditor rights, assignments for the benefit of creditors, and commercial litigation.  She represents Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 debtors, trustees, receivers, assignees and creditors; and regularly prosecutes and defends preference and fraudulent conveyance complaints.  With so much experience in her field, Sari is constantly recruited to lecture for several Bar Association meetings and Bench-Bar Conferences. In addition to being a tremendous lawyer, Sari is active in a number of charitable and professional organizations.  She is on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Chapter of Turnaround Management Association, she has been a board member for New Jersey's International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation since 2018 and is currently their Co-Chair.  Sari served as a court advocate for victims of domestic violence and the Newark Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project, is Chair of the Junior Advisory Board of Partners for Women and Justice and she continues to represent abused victims of domestic violence, pro bono.
