Loew's Jersey Theatre To Receive New Funding for Renovation

Loew's Jersey Theatre, a grand 1929 movie palace, closed in 1986. Its closing left a cultural void in the community, yet while Jersey City purchased the building in 1993, multiple renovation attempts failed.

In 2001, the Friends of the Loew's, fueled by grant funds and hard work, partially reopened the theater and have been fighting to restore it ever since. But the revival has been a tough battle, with rising costs and strict preservation rules delaying progress.

MS&B worked with the City of Jersey City and the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency to close an extraordinarily complex capital and deal structure, setting the stage for a beautiful first-in-class entertainment venue.

This renovation is expected to take place over the next two years. Securing this funding ensures the restoration of a historic New Jersey landmark. It's also a testament to the MS&B team's creativity, tenacity, skill, and collaboration. We're proud to have played a pivotal role in bringing this piece of history back to life.
