Anthony Sodono, III, to Serve as Equity Receiver for Murtuza Kazmi and "My Forex Funds"
NJ Federal District Court has tapped the head of MS&B’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group, Anthony Sodono, III, to serve as Equity Receiver for Murtuza Kazmi and his companies doing business as "My Forex Funds."
The defendants are under investigation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and charged with defrauding customers worldwide of $310 million in fees to become foreign exchange traders. This matter highlights the risks of fraudulent “prop firms” (companies that give traders access to capital in return for a percentage of profits).
As a court officer in this matter, Sodono is responsible for collecting all assets, prosecuting causes of action, interfacing with international parties to preserve critical company infrastructure information, and identifying and investigating financial issues.
